Pancake Day Visit to Belfast
Pancake Day Visit to Belfast

There was no warning that William and Kate would be visiting Belfast. Their appearance in Northern Ireland on Shrove Tuesday caused a stir as they arrived by plane at the airport and were escorted to the City Hall for a welcome event. The heavy security throughout the city did not dampen the excitement of the crowds as Prince William and his fiancée tossed pancakes in the street as part of a fundraising effort for the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund. They made at stop at the headquarters of Youth Action NI, too. In the afternoon, they visited Hillsborough Castle. Kate changed from heels to her Aquatalia boots.
