70th Anniversary of D-Day

William and Kate represented the Queen at the 70th Anniversary Commemorations of the D-Day landings in Normandy, France. The couple began at a tea with veterans in Arromanches, where veteran Arthur Jones asked Kate for a kiss, making a number of "Kiss Me, Kate!" headlines. The Duke and Duchess then made their way to Gold Beach for the official ceremony. Gold was the landing beach assigned to the British forces, who took it at the cost of 400 men.
